Currently, My Rights Texas is focused on protecting the rights of individuals and bar and tavern owners from invasive, mandated smoking bans. In addition to a violation of private and personal freedoms, smoking bans have a tremendous negative economic impact — and not just on business owners, but vendors such as AMOT member companies.

A study done for the Greater Dallas Restaurant Association showed that sales of alcohol at eating and drinking establishments in Dallas initially fell $11.8 million.
